Sleep in your own bed...

Tonight, I asked my seven year old son if he would please sleep in his own bed and was informed that "When daddy gets home I'll sleep in my room". I shook my head and said okay.

Not until he becomes a parent will he realize that sometimes "we" just want to have a pleasant nights rest, that DOES NOT consist of removing little feet from our faces and stomaches or constantly trying to keep the sheets and blankets from being kicked to the foot of the bed...

Until then I'll enjoy this time that he wants to be this close to Mommy and wait patiently till the day that I can urge my grands to "go get in the bed with Daddy"...(smile)

My wife and I were just discussing something similar with our youngest daughter. She just turned two. Prior to a couple of weeks ago, my wife and I were having to deal with the fact that my daughter would not sleep anywhere at anytime until it was on top of me. So times like right now (1am EST) my daughter would be telling ME to come to bed. (And mean it!)

She turned two earlier this month, and now she sleeps in her room with my oldest daughter, 12.

We're reveling in the fact that she's maturing...
